TOTO Aurora One-Piece Compatibility

The TOTO Aurora is an elongated one-piece toilet. Confirm these four things before ordering.

  • Rough-in measurement: Standard 12-inch rough-in. Optional 10-inch and 14-inch rough-ins are supported with specific modular components sold separately.
  • Floor space: Elongated bowl requires about 18½ inches from the wall to the front of the bowl. Confirm at least 15 inches of side clearance from the bowl centerline.
  • Water supply location: Your incoming water line should connect to the left or right side of the base. Due to the fully skirted design, ensure your supply valve clearance matches skirted toilet dimensions. Standard ½-inch shutoff valves work with this toilet.
  • Drain configuration: This toilet has a floor drain only. Wall drains are not compatible; the drain must exit the floor at your rough-in point.

For reference: One-piece toilets are heavier than two-piece models (approximately 75 lbs); plan for two people during installation.

Installation steps

  1. Turn off the water supply and flush the existing toilet to empty the tank and bowl.
  2. Disconnect the water supply line and remove the old toilet by unbolting it from the floor.
  3. Clean the floor around the drain opening and remove the old wax ring or seal.
  4. Install a new wax ring (or rubber seal) on the floor drain opening, centered on the drain.
  5. Lower the new toilet onto the wax ring, aligning the bolts with the floor holes, and tighten bolts hand-tight then with a wrench.
  6. Reconnect the water supply line, turn on the water, and fill the tank to test for leaks around the base and connection points.
  7. Install the included SoftClose seat onto the bowl mounting holes and adjust as needed.
