Should you buy the TOTO G5A or the G5A Lite?
Most comparisons on this site come down to a real trade-off. This one does not. TOTO built the G5A Lite as the same smart toilet with two things removed, and priced it $500 lower.
Everything you interact with is shared. Same TORNADO FLUSH at 1.2 or 1.0 gallons, same CEFIONTECT glaze, same EWATER+ wand sanitising, same instantaneous heater, same auto lid, same auto flush, same four-user remote.
What the standard G5A adds is a night light that glows into the bowl, and a thin silver accent strip on the body. That is the entire difference.
The night light is worth something if this toilet is going in a primary bathroom and someone in the house gets up at night. It is worth nothing in a powder room that already has a light on a timer.
The trim is a styling call. All-white reads cleaner in a minimalist bathroom; the silver strip breaks up the shape if you prefer some detail.
Both need a GFCI outlet within three feet and both are 12-inch rough-in only, with no adapter offered for either. If your rough-in is 10 or 14 inches, neither model will fit.
