Plan the TOTO RP WASHLET+ RW for the renovation phase when walls are open. This wall-hung system requires in-wall carrier installation and electrical integration for the integrated bidet seat.

  • Wall framing: 2x6 or 2x4 studs. Verify wall structure can support in-wall carrier and toilet weight (approximately 150 lbs assembled).
  • In-wall carrier system: A certified carrier (e.g., TOTO Duofit or equivalent) must be installed between studs before drywall closure.
  • Electrical outlet: GFCI 120V outlet within 3 feet of the bowl location for the integrated RW bidet seat power supply.
  • Drain configuration: Wall-mounted drain connection at standard height. Vent stack must be roughed in before carrier installation.

Installation steps

  1. Construct the structural wood framing opening to a precise width of 22-13/16" (580 mm) using double wall studs and a double header capable of supporting a minimum load of 880 lbs.
  2. Drill a 3-3/4" (95 mm) discharge line path through the subfloor, positioning the hole center exactly 1-3/4" (45 mm) forward from the front face of the wooden framing studs.
  3. Loosen the adjustment bolts on the carrier frame legs to set your target toilet height (e.g., overall frame height of 47-5/16" for a standard 17" chair-height rim installation) and verify the frame sits completely level.
  4. Pull the WASHLET+ power cable and hidden utility lines through the built-in corrugated protective tubing shell, securing the cords firmly with the included nylon ties.
  5. Secure the lower outlet pipe bracket into the carrier track, align the frame flush against the framing face, drill 1/8" pilot holes, and anchor the chassis with the eight (8) heavy-duty structural lag screws.
  6. Install a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) thickness moisture-resistant drywall over the studs, cutting standard clearance penetrations for the push plate template box, waste outlet, water supply pipe, and bowl support studs.
  7. Apply lubricant to the wall gaskets, push the inlet and outlet pipes fully into the sockets to mark the finished wall line ("Line A"), then fit them to the porcelain bowl to mark the back rim depth ("Line B").
  8. Measure the exact distance between Line A and Line B, saw off the excess material from the trailing edge of both pipes, smooth the raw edges flat with a file, and mount the ceramic bowl securely to the wall support studs.
