The TOTO Legato WASHLET+ is an elongated front one-piece toilet system. Confirm these four things before ordering.

  • Rough-in measurement: Standard 12-inch rough-in configuration. Make sure to measure from the wall (not the baseboard) to the center of your floor drain bolts.
  • Floor space: Elongated bowl requires about 18½ inches from the wall to the front of the bowl for maximum seating comfort. Confirm at least 15 inches of side clearance from the bowl centerline.
  • Water supply location: Your incoming water line connects neatly behind the skirted base. Due to the fully skirted design, ensure your supply valve clearance matches skirted toilet dimensions to accommodate the concealed connection. Standard ½-inch shutoff valves work with this toilet.
  • Drain configuration: This toilet has a floor drain only. Wall drains are not compatible; the drain must exit the floor at your standard 12-inch rough-in point.

For reference: One-piece toilets are heavier than two-piece models (approximately 75–90 lbs) because the tank and bowl are fused together; plan for two people during installation.

Installation steps

  1. Turn off the water supply and flush the existing toilet to empty the tank and bowl.
  2. Disconnect the water supply line and remove the old toilet by unbolting it from the floor.
  3. Clean the floor around the drain opening and remove the old wax ring or seal.
  4. Install a new wax ring (or rubber seal) on the floor drain opening, centered on the drain.
  5. Lower the new toilet onto the wax ring, aligning the bolts with the floor holes, and tighten bolts hand-tight then with a wrench.
  6. Route the WASHLET+ water supply and electrical lines through the integrated porcelain channels to achieve a concealed installation.
  7. Reconnect the water supply line, plug in the unit, and fill the tank to test for leaks around the base and connection points.
  8. Secure the S2 bidet seat onto the bowl using the quick-release docking station and calibrate settings using the convenient attached arm control panel.
