TOTO Washlet S7A — SW4736AT40#01

The TOTO Washlet S7A is an electronic bidet seat with an instantaneous water heater, a multifunction remote and a touchless automatic open/close lid, in elongated and round shapes.

It carries five warm-air dryer settings, EWATER+® cleaning for both the wand and the bowl, and memory settings for up to four users. It is sold in Cotton and Sedona Beige.

Front and Rear Cleansing

The S7A washes front and rear with oscillating and pulsating modes, and lets you set spray position, water pressure and water temperature to your own preference.

Instant and Continuous Warm Water

TOTO pairs the instantaneous water heater with continuous warm water, so the wash is not drawn from a stored tank.

Touchless Auto Open/Close Lid

The S7A adds TOTO's touchless automatic open/close lid. It is the one bullet the otherwise identical S7 sheet does not carry.

Heated Seat and Five-Setting Dryer

The heated seat runs from 82ºF to 97ºF, and the warm-air dryer offers five variable temperature settings across a 95ºF to 140ºF range.

EWATER+® on the Wand and the Bowl

Electrolyzed water auto-cleans the wand and the bowl after every use, which is the wording TOTO reserves for the S7 and S7A.

Remote with Four-User Memory

Personalized settings are saved for up to four users, so a shared bathroom does not mean resetting the controls each time.

TOTO Washlet S7A Compatibility

The TOTO S7A works with elongated toilets only. Confirm these four things before ordering:

  • Bowl shape: This model is designed for elongated bowls only. It will not fit round toilets.
  • Tank profile: Your tank should meet the bowl at roughly a 90° angle. French curve tanks that slope into the bowl are not compatible.
  • Mounting hole spacing: Measure between the two seat bolt holes at the back of your bowl. They should be 5.5 inches apart.
  • Tank clearance: You need at least 2 inches of flat space between the front of the tank and the seat mounting holes.

For reference: The S7A is compatible with most standard one-piece and two-piece elongated toilets, including TOTO WASHLET+ T20 and T40 models.

Installation steps

  1. Remove old seat. Clean the surface around the mounting holes.
  2. Install the seat mounting bracket.
  3. Slide the Washlet onto the bracket.
  4. Connect the hose.
  5. Turn the Washlet on.

Before you start you will need:

  • A wrench
  • A Phillips-head & flat-head screwdriver
  • A ground-fault 120-volt outlet within three feet of your toilet
  • To turn off your water supply and flush your toilet

The main difference between the TOTO S550e and S7A is the design and dimensions as well as updated features with the S7A.

Its instantaneous water heater is described by TOTO as giving continuous warm water, so the wash is not drawn from a stored tank.

The spray runs from 86ºF to 104ºF, a lower floor than the 95ºF start on the rest of the range.
