The TOTO Nexus is an elongated, two-piece toilet with a 12-inch rough-in. Confirm these three things before ordering:

  • Rough-in measurement: 12-inch standard. Verify your home's drain location matches this specification.
  • Floor clearance: 21 inches in front of the bowl, 15 inches on each side for safe movement.
  • Water supply: Standard ½-inch connection at the base of the toilet.

Installation steps

  1. Prep. Shut off the water supply, flush to empty the tank, then disconnect the supply line.
  2. Remove the old toilet. Unbolt from the floor and scrape the old wax ring from the flange.
  3. Set the wax ring. Place a new wax ring on the flange, centered over the drain.
  4. Seat the new toilet. Lower onto the flange, press down firmly, and hand-tighten the bolts evenly.
  5. Connect and test. Reconnect the supply line and restore water pressure to check for leaks.
