  • Auto open/close lid: opens as you walk up and closes when you leave
  • EWATER+ in the bowl: electrolyzed water mists the bowl after every use, not just the wand
  • Four wash modes: rear, rear soft, front and a wide front soft setting
  • Five-setting warm air dryer: more control over the finish than the three settings below it
  • 4.1-inch seat profile: visibly slimmer than the S5, with a seamless body

The Lid Opens Before You Touch It

The WASHLET S7A opens its lid as you approach and closes it when you leave, so the last thing anyone in the house touches is nothing at all. In a shared bathroom, or a powder room guests use, that single behaviour does more for how the room feels than anything on the specification sheet. The lid can also be operated from the remote, and the automatic function can be switched off if you would rather use it by hand.

EWATER+ in the Bowl and Four Wash Modes

Beyond the lid, the S7A is the full premium WASHLET. Electrolyzed water mists the bowl after every use as well as cleaning the wand, with a manual button on the remote. Four wash modes include a wide front soft setting, water adjusts from approximately 86°F to 104°F, and the warm air dryer runs across five heat settings. A high-output deodorizer, an auto-sensing night light across the bowl and seat side, and a skin-contact sensor round out the seat, which sits at 4.1 inches with a seamless body.

A New Flush Engine, Not a New Badge

A conventional gravity toilet empties its tank through a single valve, and that one uncontrolled release has to both rinse the bowl and start the siphon. The Aurora uses two nested tanks and two valves that fire in sequence — one sends the rim wash, the other the siphon jet. TOTO states this extends bowl and rim coverage by up to five times against a standard gravity flush at the same 1.0 gallons.

INTEGRAVITY works alongside TORNADO FLUSH, which is the shape of the bowl rather than the tank: two nozzles drive the water in a cyclonic path instead of feeding it through a ring of rim holes. Most listings for this toilet treat the two as one feature. They are separate systems, and the Aurora has both.

Who Should Choose the Aurora WASHLET+ S7A?

The Aurora WASHLET+ S7A is best suited to shoppers who specifically want the hands-free lid. It is worth being direct about this: the S7A is the S7 with an automatic lid, and every other feature is identical between them.

If the automatic lid is not something you need, the Aurora WASHLET+ S7 is the same seat for less. Auto flush can be added to either model at the point of order or retrofitted later, because the Aurora bowl is auto-flush ready whichever seat you choose.

TOTO Aurora WASHLET+ S7A One-Piece Toilet — 1.0 GPF

The Aurora is TOTO’s 2026 flagship one-piece and the first toilet built around the INTEGRAVITY SYSTEM™, a gravity flush engine that sequences the rim wash and the siphon jet instead of releasing both at once. Its flared, fully skirted silhouette conceals the trapway, and CEFIONTECT glaze keeps the ceramic smooth enough that waste and mineral deposits struggle to take hold. This configuration pairs it with the WASHLET S7A (SW4736AT40), model number MW6864736CUFG#01.

As a WASHLET+ system, the power cord and water supply run into a channel cast into the back of the bowl rather than out of the side of the seat, so nothing is visible from the front or the side.

Compare the Four WASHLET Options

Every Aurora WASHLET+ uses the same bowl, the same flush engine and the same glaze. The seat is the only thing that changes. The shaded column is the S7A on this page.

  • Floor clearance: 21 inches in front of the bowl, 15 inches on each side.

  • Electrical outlet: GFCI 120V within 3 feet of the toilet base (powers integrated WASHLET+ bidet seat).
Toto toilet compatibility. Will it fit your space/

Installation steps

  1. Prep. Shut off the water supply, flush to empty the tank, then disconnect the supply line.
  2. Remove the old toilet. Unbolt from the floor and scrape the old wax ring from the flange.
  3. Set the wax ring. Place a new wax ring on the flange, centered over the drain.
  4. Seat the new toilet. Lower onto the flange, press down firmly, and hand-tighten the bolts evenly.
  5. Connect and test. Reconnect the supply line, restore water, and plug the WASHLET+ into the GFCI outlet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the WASHLET S7A and the S7?

Exactly one thing: the S7A’s lid opens and closes automatically. EWATER+ in the bowl and on the wand, four wash modes, five dryer settings, the high-output deodorizer, the auto-sensing night light, the skin-contact sensor and the 4.1-inch seat profile are identical on both. If the hands-free lid is not something you want, the S7 is the better value.

Does the automatic lid still work during a power outage?

No. During a power cut the lid is operated by hand, and the wash, dryer and heated seat are unavailable. The toilet itself flushes normally, because the flush is entirely mechanical, and saved settings are retained when power returns.

Should I choose the 1.0 GPF Aurora or the other version?

The two are only about twelve dollars apart, so this is not a cost decision. The 1.0 GPF Aurora 1G suits most homes built in the last forty years and uses roughly 22% less water per flush. Choose the 1.28 GPF Aurora instead if you have a long horizontal drain run with minimal fall, older cast-iron pipe, or this is the only fixture on that branch.

What makes a WASHLET+ toilet different from a standard bidet seat installation?

WASHLET+ is a matched pair. The bowl has a channel cast into the back of it, and the seat runs its power cord and water hose rearward into that channel rather than out of the side. Nothing is visible from the front or the side. An ordinary bidet seat added later will work on this bowl, but its cord and hose will run across the skirt in plain view.

What are the downsides of the Aurora WASHLET+ S7A?

The main limitations are that INTEGRAVITY launched in February 2026 and has no long-term field record yet, the warranty is one year rather than the two or three some competitors offer, and the toilet ships with a left-hand trip lever, so ADA compliance requires either a right-hand lever or auto flush. The Ebony finish also ships without CEFIONTECT glaze while costing more than Cotton White. At 132 lbs boxed this is a two-person installation. Buyers who do not need the automatic lid will find the S7 identical in every other respect and less expensive.
